The Beauty and Artistry of Mosaic Tiles

From ceramic to glass and everything in between, mosaic tiles are a timeless design element ideal for any room. The endless combinations of colors, shapes, sizes and materials—from intricate and elegant waterjet mosaics, to mixed-material creations with marble and wood, to high-shine metallic finishes—makes them a gorgeous addition to any style of home décor.

Mosaic tiles can be installed in almost any interior space you can think of, from floors to walls, bathrooms to kitchen backsplashes, and foyers to fireplaces. Wherever you decide to use mosaic tile, the mesh backing makes it easy to get a flawless installation every time.

Mosaic Kitchen Tiles

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and adding mosaic tiles will make yours even more inviting. And you don’t need to do a full renovation to reap the benefits; just installing a mosaic tile backsplash is an easy (but high-impact) way to refresh the look of your cooking and gathering space.

Mosaic Bathroom Tile

If you love a good before-and-after (and who doesn’t?), you’ll love the results of adding mosaic tiles to your bathroom. A beautiful mosaic tile bathroom floor is even more gorgeous when you carry over the same tile to your tub surround, backsplash, or shower niche. Our selection of mosaic bathroom tiles also includes plenty of coordinating colors and shapes that are perfect for mixing and matching in an all-tile bathroom.

Entryways and Mudrooms

Even a high-traffic area like a mudroom or entryway can be a thing of beauty with the right floor tile. (No mudroom? No problem. In a small space, mosaic floor tiles can still add practical function and visual distinction for a designated drop zone inside your front or back door.)

Ask The Mosaic Experts

  • Mosaic tiles are small pieces of tile held together on a sheet. Mosaics can come in many different shapes, sizes, materials and finishes, which allows homeowners and trade professionals alike the opportunity to create custom patterns.

  • Yes! We recommend a wet saw for cutting mosaics and most other tiles.

  • Mosaic tiles are made from stone, porcelain, glass and other tile materials cut into small pieces. Then, these tiles are mounted or glued onto a sheet, often made from a mesh backing.

  • When selecting a grout, you will want to consider the appearance, maintenance, traffic, finishes, and material of your mosaic tiles. Visit your local Tile Shop to speak with a tile expert who can help determine the best grout for your needs.

  • Mosaic tiles are not one-size-fits-all. Some materials are more durable than others. We suggest thoroughly reading recommended installations and placements in the product description for each tile.

  • Mosaic tiles vary in thickness. We recommend reviewing the dimensions and other details in the product description of each tile.

  • We recommend using a non-acidic, anti-bacterial cleaner for man-made materials like ceramic and porcelain as well as natural stone materials. Our Grout and Tile Neutral Cleaner or Anti-Bacterial Cleaner are safe options for everyday use with both categories of tile. If your natural stone requires a deep cleaning or special attention, we advise contacting your local Tile Shop representative for more information as some stones are sensitive to certain cleaning agents.
